btop. Existing settings are preserved; new
configurations default to Dracula and 400 ms. The portable Debian package has
GPU monitoring disabled. A separate x86-64 GPU archive is included for systems
compatible with Debian 13's runtime libraries and the relevant GPU drivers.Changes
- CPU steal percentage to one decimal, with
--while no valid interval is available. - CPU model names and frequency on separate borders. Long Silver/Platinum names no longer lose their model suffix to the frequency slot; narrow layouts abbreviate descriptive words first.
- Peravix Group branding in the terminal and version output.
- Linux ZFS discovery, including imported pools with no mounted filesystem; pool state, logical bytes/s and IOPS, plus ARC information.
- Shared network graph autoscaling now considers both fresh directions and uses consecutive-sample hysteresis (upstream issue #1082).
- NVIDIA NVML initialization retries the next available library candidate after failure (adapted from raylei50653's PR #1869).
- Includes all previous CPU parser, topology and sensor-recovery corrections.
ZFS capacity is mounted dataset filesystem space, not raw pool capacity.
Unmounted/zvol-only pools show capacity unavailable while retaining readable
I/O/state information. See ZFS reporting.Build and review
Source revision:
76ed0285a3ca77eee73fef904e9f8fd8adcc4e9d.All 23 Linux matrix builds completed: 22 portable architecture targets and the
native x86-64 GPU variant. The Debian installer packages the matching portable
x86-64 executable. Build manifests and SHA256SUMS accompany the downloads.
Uploaded asset bytes, package contents and revision identity were checked
before publication. Forgejo build run.Independent source review completed. No tests were added or run, and no btop
runtime, installation or physical-hardware validation was performed. Linux
compilation does not validate macOS/BSD, every CPU family, NVIDIA/WSL or every
ZFS configuration. This is a preview release.Upstream btop attribution, Apache-2.0 licensing and contributor history remain
intact. Review ledger.Documentation and package metadata were sanitized for public distribution on 20261005. Executables are unchanged. Checksums have been refreshed; source history was rewritten to remove private deployment details.

btop Homelab .3 — CPU reporting fixes Pre-release
released this
2026-10-04 09:16:43 +00:00 | 6 commits to codex/peravix since this releaseSuperseded by Peravix Group edition. The Peravix release includes these fixes plus CPU steal and ZFS reporting improvements.
Homelab .3 fixes the startup regression in .1: ordinary spaces in Linux CPU statistics were incorrectly parsed. It also includes the .2 hotfix and subsequent source-reviewed CPU improvements. New configurations default to Dracula and a 400 ms refresh; existing preferences are preserved.
Linux CPU reporting now handles sparse/hotplug CPU IDs, zero-tick samples, decreasing iowait counters, shared frequency policies, frequency-read recovery, package-aware Intel core temperatures, hottest-package Auto temperature, and package power aggregation with counter rollover. AMD CCD temperatures remain selectable without guessing which cores belong to them.
Additional fixes: preserve Xeon/EPYC tier and model names; calculate process CPU percentages from the actual CPU rows in the same statistics sample; reset usage baselines on CPU population changes or nonincreasing counters; back off failed cpuset reads for 30 seconds; calculate core columns from the rows that actually fit. Narrow terminals can still lack room for every core. Container CPU quota normalization and full PID-reuse handling are not claimed.
Optional
disks_orderconfiguration lets you order visible mount paths without changing collectors. Unlisted mounts retain their normal order, and the empty default preserves existing behavior. Also includes selected upstream-derived redraw, graph-size, zero-temperature-limit and initialization fixes. Upstream history, Apache-2.0 license and contributor attribution are retained, along with bundled third-party license notices. See the repository's review ledger for the full issue/PR inventory and deferred proposals.
Install the amd64 Debian package with
sudo apt install ./btop_1.4.7+homelab.3_amd64.deb. It contains the same static executable as the x86-64 portable archive, does not enable GPU monitoring, and preserves existing user configuration. An older/usr/local/bin/btopcan shadow the package;/usr/bin/btopselects the packaged executable explicitly.Packages: all 22 Linux architectures from upstream's CI matrix, plus a dynamic x86-64 GPU variant and the amd64 Debian installer. Static portable builds omit GPU support. The m68k target uses O2 without LTO to avoid an internal compiler error in GCC 16.2; other targets retain bounded LTO. The GPU package requires Debian 13-compatible glibc/libstdc++ and suitable GPU libraries/permissions. See BUILD-INFO.json for compiler versions and exact target flags; SHA256SUMS covers all other release assets.
These packages were compiled on the NUC builder through Forgejo Actions. Runtime tests and benchmarks were not run, and physical Xeon/EPYC or cross-architecture readings are not hardware-validated. This preview does not include native macOS, BSD or Windows binaries. Source for this exact release is available through the tag and Forgejo's source archive links.
All 23 executable builds completed in Actions run 5. Its final Debian packaging step failed because the runner's restrictive umask produced a 0700 control directory. Packaging-only commit
0bd9eda6635a90132262f2505e6c70ed849d4dcasets explicit directory permissions. The published .deb was then built as the unprivileged builder with the same restrictive umask, from the unchanged x86-64 archive at the tagged source revision. The original Actions run retains its failed packaging status; no executable was rebuilt or runtime-tested for that recovery.Documentation and package metadata were sanitized for public distribution on 20261005. Executables are unchanged. Checksums have been refreshed; source history was rewritten to remove private deployment details.

btop Homelab 2026.10.04 — startup hotfix Pre-release
released this
2026-10-04 09:07:07 +00:00 | 7 commits to codex/peravix since this releaseSuperseded by Peravix Group edition. The Peravix release includes these fixes plus CPU steal and ZFS reporting improvements.
Homelab .2 — Linux startup correction
Fixes the Homelab .1 regression that rejected ordinary whitespace in
/proc/statand aborted startup. The same correction handles newline-terminated CPU topology IDs and whitespace around fallback CPU frequency keys. Also preserves Xeon and EPYC model names and generations, and adds an optional disk display order. New configurations still use Dracula and a 400 ms refresh. Existing user preferences are retained.

btop_1.4.7+homelab.2_amd64.deband install it with:sudo apt install ./btop_1.4.7+homelab.2_amd64.debThis portable build excludes GPU monitoring. Its checksum is in the adjacent
.deb.sha256file. The package contains its source revision and executable hash. The package structure and hashes were inspected; no runtime test or installation test was run. The complete architecture matrix is available in the newer Homelab .3 release.Documentation and package metadata were sanitized for public distribution on 20261005. Executables are unchanged. Checksums have been refreshed; source history was rewritten to remove private deployment details.
